Italian Sodas

We loved Italian Sodas from Starbucks! It was so convieniet when we had a Starbucks close but when they went out of business we tried other coffee shops but nothing compared! Our special treat fizzled out when Menchies Yogurt came & she introduced me to the green apple tart flavor, covered in carmel & sprinkled with broken up waffle cone pieces! Yum!  We would often use visiting teaching as our excuse to go there! Cami was my visiting teacher for as long as we have lived here.

Girls Camp 2010

In summer 2010, we  drove up to girls camp together & I had brought up my friends fart machine. We were so excited to use it, after being there for only 5 minutes & having no time to hide it. I got anxious & started pushing the button making it look like it was Cami farting. Of course she played along & kept apologizing for letting them rip!
The next night the bishopric came up & this time she was in charge of the control. I by mistake chose to sit right by where she placed the sound part of the machine. I was so embarrassed & she could not stop laughing even as hard she tried to stop!
The last morning we took it into the bathroom we shared with the entire stake. Girls were in front of the mirror getting ready  & Cami was in one of the stalls with the fart machine making the grossest sounds, & pretending to be sick. It was so funny to see the girls faces, have them leave & then having a new bunch of girls come in & do it again. I would just keep asking her over & over if she was okay & she would always reply with something funny! It was hilarious!

Bath & Body Works

I loved going to Bath & Body Works with Cami! We would always go when we had a coupon or whenever they would have the Wallflowers on sale for $5. The last time we went was the end of May & she was so excited to get a birthday present for her cute niece Jaycee.

Hair Color

If you look to the right of the toliet paper you can see the discoloration.
A couple of years ago Cami asked who colored my hair dark, I told her I did it myself, she asked if I would color hers, so of course I said yes (another excuse to have girl time together). Well one of the times I colored her hair while mixing the developer / color we were talking ( I can't do two things at once) & I forgot to put the cap on the lid, shaking  the color to mix it together, making it spray all over my bathroom! I was able to get most of the color out of everything but a small section of the wood. I cherish this section now remembering this memory of her! Yes, that was the last time I colored her hair.

Friends Night

I remember a friends night that Thom & Cami were in charge of, We met at there house for pizza then decided to go to Iceburg in Draper for shakes. Nolan & I were in the same car as Thom & Cami & while we were driving there we thought it would be funny to have the car behind us follow us with whatever we did, even if we went around & around & around the same roundabout multiple times! We laughed so hard, I can still hear her contagious laugh!
For a Young Women's activity, we went to businesses in the area to ask them to donate to our Young Women auction. I was following Cami in her car from South Jordan to our Riverton Fresh Market & she did exactly what we did to the car full of our friends on our friend night to me & she had me following her all over that whole parking lot from freshmarket to IFA, & again she was laughing her head off! One of the things I love most about Cami, is she could take a regular kinda boring situation & make it the best & most exciting time ever!

Mamma Mia

Going to Mamma Mia , singing & dancing our little hearts is maybe one of my favorite memories! We went two times & both times we did not care who was there we just acted like we were the only people there dancing around the theater & singing as loud as we could, even feeling a little uncomfortable during some of the scenes because both time a cute young woman just happened to be there (we did warn the mom the second time because we had already scene it, but she let her go anyway :)).
On the way home from Jordan Commons, it was around 11:00pm, we decided to do a Chinese Fire Drill,  where you stop at a red light & change seats in the car ( not safe, so don't do it (even though it is soooo fun)). Well we were changing cars too & in our care we ended up without a driver! We had so much fun, laughing so hard the entire time!
Then it that wasn't enough we went to Brad Vanskyhawks & Rebecca told us to serenade him  because she new he would be up. So we sang "Gimme a Man After Midnight" to a not so happy Brad who was hiding in his garments.
Always on nights with Cami I never wanted them to end because she was just so much FUN!

Some words to describe Cami

These are just some words to describe Cami.

C      is for caring, compassion, concern for others
A      is for amazing
M     is for mother, mentor
I       is for incredible

J       is for joy-full, jubilant, jokester
O     is for outstanding

I have so many wonderful memories of Cami it seems like each day my mind recalls something new. Our first Girls Camp together I have a couple of memories of her. First was the zip-line.... on our way down the mountain from our hike the girls wanted to ride the zip-line. (Now keep in mind that this camp was held at my parent's property.) I had never gone down the zip-line it is way too HIGH for me. So Marianne & I told the girls we would go down and make lunch while Cami & Heather stayed up there to supervise them on the zip-line. Well needless to say that from then on Cami & Heather were considered the "Cool Leaders", because they rode the zip-line. The rest of the camp and probably for awhile after that we would refer to them as the "cool leaders". The second experience is of us driving home, the entire two hour ride we listened to and sang ABBA's Mamma Mia. From that time on I was hooked on Mamma Mia which eventually turned into going to see Mamma Mia on the big screen and of course the sing along version too. Wow I never knew ABBA had two hours worth of songs.

Cami's lessons were always so well planned and prepared. I always knew that she had a testimony of the church and of our Savior Jesus Christ. She emulated the Savior in all that she did and said. She was truly born to be a teacher and to testify of Jesus Christ.

I don't even think that I ever heard Cami say a negative thing about another person. She was always so full of life and always positive!

I will always think of Cami when I hear Katy Perry's song "Firework". It was playing on a CD on the drive up to Girls Camp this year and that was the first time I heard that song and the girls told me that it was one of Cami's favorite songs. And as I would listen to the song over and over I can't believe how fitting the song is for her. She was and I am sure is a FIREWORK- showing us all what is worth!

Love Ya Cami- Can't wait to see you again!

Such a good Teacher

Dear Oborn Family,
I loved Cami so much, she was an amazing person, she was always smiling. She was such a happy person. She was such a good teacher, her lessons were so good.
I loved her so much & thank you for sharing her with us. I really appreciate it!
Love you with all my heart,
Lexie Turpin :)

Her lesson

Dear Duston,
I want you to know what a great example you were in primary, as your teacher Brother Pulley & I felt such a wonderful spirit from you. That could only come from such a strong mom & dad. As I have served in Young Womens and was able to get to know your mom, I realized what a very special person she was.
One lesson I remember Cami doing was when she gave each of the girls a Rolo chocolate & said Wait , don't eat it yet. If you can keep this Rolo through the lesson, you can trade it for something even better. While Cami gave the lesson she would eat a Rolo in front of us & make so many yummy sounds that it was very difficult not to eat our Rolo. She did this many times during the lesson. But we held sitting through the temptations. She was amazing & when the lesson was done she traded our Rolos for a Dove Chocolate Covered Carmel. Which was even better than the Rolo! Again Cami was amazing & I loved her Duston, Brother Pulley & I love you too!
All my love,
Sister Jayne Pulley

Love Life

Cami at our Young Woman non sleepover!
My memory of Cami is just to say how much she loved life. She was slways so animated, and enjoyed everything. I remember her telling me about her flash mob dancing. How she actually took time out of her busy schedule to go practice her dance, & how she loved it! My first memory was of her bringing over a bag of Ghiradelli Chocolates at Christmas time. I knew I was really going to like this neighbor. After, when I found out how much she loved chocolate I realized what a sacrifice that had been. How typical of Cami to give something she loved to someone she hardly knew. Probably my favorite memory of Cami is how much she loves her boys. She would come up to Ashton or Duston in the hall & say "Hey Handsome!", and then she would tossle their hair, and give them a hug. She adored her boys & still does. Cami has such a great capacity to love. She shared it in the way she lived her life. My life truly is better for knowing her.

Memories Of Cami
Cami was amazing. She was always nice and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. When I talked to her, she always made me feel like I was the most important person to her at that time. She always seemed interested in what I was doing. At girls camp Cami was the "cool" leader because she went down the zipline! Cami always knew how to have fun & laugh. I will really miss her laugh & smile.

Cami thanks for being an amazing leader. I love you so much and will miss you tons. I can't wait till I see you again!
